Creme Brulee Tarts

Alright..selesai sudah leha-lehanya. Sekarang ngeblog lagee..:-)

Kalo denger kata Creme Brulee, belom apa2 biasanya gue dah ngacai duluan. Doyan bangett ama desssert model2 bgini.

Dulu dah pernah bikin, tapi gagal euy. Waktu itu gue ampe mendidih sih, lama lagi..jadilah curdle ..

Sekarang bikin lagi, dengan resep yang lain..ga gagal..cihuyyy..

Oya, base/pie crust-nya beli jadi ajah hehe di Titan, Fatmawati..males aje musti rolling2 segala. Harganya kalo ga salah inget, Rp 4.000,- each. Diameter skitar 8 cm kali yee..dah lenyap sih, jd ga bisa diukur dey. Kalo belinya banyak yah berasa rugi deh, tapi kalo perlunya dikit, kalo ga mau repot, pake jurus ampuh itu aja..beli jadi! Rebes!
*Yang ada ntar ga masuk dapur deh, maunya beli jadi terusss..* :-)
Ini penampakannya..cantik yaaa…gue suka dengan pinggirannya yang ngga berlekuk-lekuk sebagaimana biasanya pie, bosennn deeh liat yang berlekuk-lekuk itu hehe..

Kebetulan lagi belanja di Titan , kalap liat bursa buku murah Gramedia-nya..dan terkaget2 dengan harga butter, heavy cream, dll sekarang, terutama semenjak kenaikan harga BBM..OH MY GOD! *pingsan seketika*, trus liat pie ini (dah bangun dong dari pingsannya *wink*)..beli deh..dah dioles coklat leleh pulak..cantik!)
And then, dikaryakan deh. Jadi Creme Brulee Tarts.
Oya. Raw brown sugar gue ganti dengan gula Jawa hahahaha jadilah lapisan atasnya bgitu. Yang penting, teteuup enakkk..

Creme Brulee Tarts

‘Serve these melt-in-your-mouth tarts with fresh fruit, such as mixed summer berries if wished’.

Sweet Pie Dough
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp superfine sugar
½ cup butter, cut into small pieces
1 tbsp water

Filling
4 egg yolks
¼ cup superfine sugar
1 ¾ cups heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Raw brown sugar, for sprinkling

1. To make the dough, place the flour and sugar in a bowl an rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture resemble bread crumbs. Add the water and work the mixture together until a soft dough has formed. Wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to line 6 tart pans, each 4 inches/10 cm wide. Prick the bottom of the tart shells with a fork and chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
3. Line the tart shells with foil and baking bean and bake in a preheated oven, 375°F/190°C, for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and beans and cook for a further 10 minutes until crisp and golden. Let cool.
4. Meanwhile, make the filling. In a bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until pale. Heat the cream and vanilla extract in a pan until just below boiling point, then pour it onto the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
5. Return the mixture to a clean pan and bring to just below a boil, stirring constantly until thick. Do not let the mixture boil or it will curdle.
6. Let the mixture cool slightly, then pour it into the tart pans. Let cool and then chill overnight in the refrigerator.
7. Sprinkle the tarts with the sugar. Place under a preheated hot broiler for a few minutes. Let cool, then chill for 2 hours before serving.

    enaknya ada pie crust siap pakai, gw disini blom nemu nih. sama ‘Nne soal harga disini, naek smua padahal harga BBM disini ga naek krn kan negara penghasil minyak (harga air lebih mahal dari harga bensin) tapi krn semua produk import.

    Mindy, iya gawat juga disana yah. Sebenernya sih di Indo harga2 masih relatif lebih murah dibanding luar, tapi yah harap maklum deh, daya beli masyarakat kita kan rendah bu..sedih yak kalo dibanding Europe/USA sana..apalagi kalo baca gaya hidup artis2 na..wah satu sepatu anak bisa utk kasi makan warga Indo sekelurahan selama sebulan ..hiks..

    Ooohhh… itu toh yg namanya creme brule (norak deh eike). Selama ini cuma tahu nama, trus denger2 gosip sih enak (apa sih, makanan digosipin). Ntar mo nyoba aaahhh… TFS ya say.

    Iya, creme brulee itu enyak. Coba bikin say. Nikmati pelan-pelan hehehe. Tapi ati2 kolesterol, lemak, kalori, dll..hehe..
